Jan 04: Bloggers Waqas Goraya and Asim Saeed went missing from Lahore.
Jan 06: Salman Haider, a professor at Fatima Jinnah University in Islamabad and social media activist, is reported went missing from Banigala in Islamabad and Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan ordered inquiry into his disappearance.

Jan 28: On directive of Anti-Terrorism Court in Karachi, police registered FIR against Mir Shakilur Rehman, owner of Jang media group, PEMRA chief Absar Alam, two Geo News anchor Najam Sethi and Muneeb Farooq. The FIR was lodged after a complainant, Gul Khan, said Najam Sethi and Muneeb Farooq “hatched conspiracy by hurling baseless allegations against the military, the government and the judiciary.
